Take the on-line crash course and learn how to sing
a cappella just like your idols
"How on earth do they do that?!" We get that
question a lot ! Well, let us introduce you to some
basic principles of high standard a capella singing.
With every step, you can click on the highlighted bits
to hear how to go about it. Enjoy!
- Anybody who happens to carry a whistle on him, gives
the tone
(eg. a B).
- the others take over that tone meticulously.
- Somebody particularly gifted for bass singing comes
up with a funky bass
line.
- Pick a vocal pattern, just a couple of syllables,
which make absolutely no sense at all, but which sound
groovy. How about pakketiepawa,
or teuteketeum,
or if you are a real dare devil: tawtekewa.
- Add some friends and it will soon sound something
like this, this
or this.

- Why not add some percussion
while you're at it.
- The lead vocal ! Put a bit of soul in your lead
vocal. Who said that it always had to be about "love"
and "booty". Let's see what "pay as
you go" or "park & ride" sound
like.
- What is an impeccable harmony if it ain't got that
swing? Right: dance steps
!
